I love incorporating symbols in my artwork. I feel it gives a deeper meaning to the work I create. The symbol can mean something different to each person. It just depends on the viewer. The butterfly for me, for example, represents transformation, new beginnings, resilience and beauty. I also love creating paintings with flowers because to me they represent growth, expansion, renewal and the cycle of life. Gold is another symbol I love. I put a gold dot on every portrait or body I paint. The gold represents the gold within each and everyone of us if we choose to dig deep enough. What do each of these symbols mean to you? What symbol do you love? If you are out in nature today, take time to notice the butterflies, dragonflies, hummingbirds, flowers, trees, etc and think about what they mean to you and what they symbolize in your life. You might be surprised with what you find out.
