Why it’s important to have art in your home.

I was once doing a podcast interview on my show The Creative Spirits Podcast. I was interviewing an artist and one thing she said that resonated with me was that art has energy, it has the energy of the artist and it is going in that home to make the space better (or worse depending on the piece). But when you buy a reproduction that has been mass produced that energy is basically dead.
It made me think of the importance of bringing things that really mean something into my own space. I am an art collector myself so I am always very conscious of which artist I am bringing into my home. Because it’s not just about the artwork, it’s also about the artist and who they are and the energy (good or bad) that they are putting into that particular piece.
I believe it is so important to bring things into your home that you really love. It’s also important to avoid clutter and really think about any item that you are bringing into your home before you purchase it. We tend to accumulate so many things and don’t realize just how much until we end up moving.
So if you see that painting you really love, invest in it! Don’t be afraid. You are not only investing in an item you love but you are investing in YOU! It will bring you happiness, positive feelings and good vibes into your sacred space. I love all the pieces in my home and every time I look at them, I am reminded of what that piece means to me and the artist that created it for me.
And I can’t tell you how many people wished they had bought one of my pieces before my prices went up. Don’t wait until tomorrow, do it now! You are worth it!
