The Goddess Within You

As a young girl, I didn’t know the potential that I had inside of me. I didn’t know the strength that resided in that small body of mine. It wasn’t until I had my own daughter that I began to see the importance of growing that strength and potential within me in order to be the best example for her. I paint goddesses or women into goddesses because I believe every woman has that hidden beauty and potential inside of them. I am only an instrument that brings it out into full view for them to see and the world to witness.
My daughter has the confidence I never had. She doesn’t shy away from sharing her light. I am proud of that because I was able to show her by example that it is okay to be you and shine bright. I was too afraid to do that at her age. I was the wallflower that never liked attention on me. I was afraid I was going to be made fun of, rejected or judged. Now I see that it was all in my head. No one really cares what you do. What they really care about is how you make them feel. So I decided I wanted to make people feel good! I wanted to be that source of positive energy and light. I wanted to be a source of happiness and beauty in the world through my art, actions, and words.
This painting below represents the light within each and everyone of us. The light of pure potential. This goddess emerges from the depths of the sea to show the universe all that she has to offer. No longer in hiding, she is out to conquer the world with her radiant light. She is unashamed of being a force of goodness. As beams of light emerge from the crown of her head, she is spreading this positive energy for the world to see and feel.
I am one person that is trying to spread a message. One might say “but who will listen to me?”. I believe that having an impact on just one other soul has a ripple effect of good in the world. So I am passing this candle on to you with a fire shining so bright. Please pass this candle along to someone else so they can light someone up today. You never know whose life you might affect by your beautiful glowing golden light.
